Required Text: Biostatistics for the Biological and Health Sciences, M. M. Triola and M. F. Triola, 1st Edition (2006).

Course Objectives: To introduce the basic ideas of probability and statistics with emphasis on applications to the natural and social sciences and to everyday life.  While we will learn how to do some calculations by hand, the primary goal is understanding of concepts, including the ability to interpret results.

 Aug. 1 -- Several copies of the textbook are available for short loan periods in the library reserve system.

 Aug. 14 -- A midterm review has been posted on the links and supplementary material page. The midterm is in class on August 17 at 9:00am-10:30am. Remember that on the midterm and final exam only, you can bring one 8.5in by 11in page of hand-written notes. They must have your name and be turned in with your exam. They also cannot contain solutions to specific homework problems.

 Aug. 28 -- I will hold an additional final review on Wednesday, August 30, at 4-5pm in Physical Sciences 114. The format will be open question. To help you prepare, a final review has been posted on the links and supplementary material page.
